Welcome

I’m Nicole Wells an aspiring fine art photographer living on the Central Coast of Australia. I’m trying to make a new habit of blogging the images I make as people seem to like to find out what goes through my mind when I make them. I think I’ll try to blog one each week with a bit of an overview of what I do.

The first image I’ll do is one called Breezy, it’s pretty much the first photograph I took that I’ve been really proud of and hangs over my fireplace today.

It was a really hot Summers day, my daughter and I were in our sunroom, where there is loads of lovely light throughout the day. She was standing on a coffee table and I had a small fan blowing towards her, to help keep her cool. I remember I said something to her, to make her give me this particular look, but I can’t remember what it was now 🙂 I had a white reflector on the camera right and I used an opaque white hanging shower curtain as a diffuser. This image was entered into the Sydney Royal Easter Show in 2012 and won second place, it was also in the ADD On group exhibition as part of the Head On festival in Sydney.
